ex in Amsterdam
Greetings from Amsterdam!

In the spring of 2009 I am teaching the following courses:

Lighting for the Camera – Section 1 & 2
During the course we try as a class to recreate interesting lighting setups from feature films.

Guess from what feature film the following scenes are:

Video

Caberet

Shooters

Advanced Film Production
The students in this class are now in the process of finishing  their final film project. The film script, Pier 16, by Sara Eikmeier, student in the Film/Video department.

On wednesday April 15 the class went to SHOOTERS in Philadelphia

for the transfer and color correction of their movie

Class visit by BILL GRAY

Class visit of Bill Gray, first AC and Still photographer

Here are some comments on the class visit  of Bill Gray

Bill is First AC and Still Photographer on feature films

On the photo above he is demonstrating  the use of a still camera with a blimp.

“Today in class Bill Gray came and spoke to us,expressing knowledge of the field and his experience

working in it,as well as suggestions to us,the students, about what we should look for and work towards

in our career futures. It was extremely informative,as well as captivating, and as a student I felt that this

is exactly the kind of thing I prefer in a college environment.I was excited to hear from someone who had first

hand experience, and could offer it in a Q and A type conversation, one on one with the students.I thank

Exsul for such an experience, for inviting this speaker to come and talk to us,and I hope that Stevenson

University Film and Video Department continues with more similar visits, people with experience coming to

share about how they got where they are ,what it is like out in the real world,as well as offering suggestions to how we can follow suite.

Thanks again,’

Daniel Regner-Junior at Stevenson University-FilmFocus

About Me

During the semeter I try to bring the film student to the set of feature films shot in Baltimore. Last spring several students and I were invited to be on the set of the movie ‘Parting ‘by the British filmmaker Peter Mullett. For a taste of this shoot see the slideshow put together by our alumni Sam Tressler.

Last summer several students and I visited the set of a feature film Renee Zellweiger. One of our students got in contact with the Maryland Film Commission and was invited to work as a PA for two weeks on this movie.

Keep on networking!!
